Travel Playlist: Road Trip Music from Mausi and Phoenix

It's Getaway Friday - gateway to the weekend, and the perfect time to take those keys and drive off to the nearest faraway beach! Here are some tracks to get you in a beachin' (and not bitchin') kind of mood from synth-driven Mausi and the legendary Phoenix.

It pays to have friends with great taste in music. Dan introduced me to Mausi on a particularly dreary Tuesday at the office, and I haven't stopped listening to their songs since. "sol." is bound to make it to my summer playlist, and their new track "Move" is great to party with!

After a really long wait, Phoenix is back with "Entertainment"! They've already announced the dates to their tour and I ought to save up for last-minute flights and a concert ticket in case they drop by Southeast Asia. My ultimate concert dream? To fly to Singapore or some other neighboring Southeast Asian country with nothing but my iPod and the clothes on my back to catch a concert by one of my favorite bands, and fly back to Manila on the same day wearing a t-shirt from the concert because I had to buy a change of clothes at the venue.

Any new music you've been listening to on repeat lately? I'd love to hear your music recommendations!

Imagine Dragons - Top of the World
Death Cab for Cutie - You Are a Tourist
LP - Into the Wild
Stars - Hold On When You Get Love and Let Go When You Give It
Bloc Party - I Still Remember
Ellie Goulding - Anything Could Happen
Anberlin - Retrace

M83 - Reunion
St. Lucia - Closer Than This

and the new Phoenix song of course is worth the 3 years wait.
